She Loved Me

I was her darling,

she was my strong fighter.

A battle she faced humbly,

that keeps her in my heart, my soul.

I remember her for when she loved me.

I was her niece,

she was my backbone.

Her invincibility proven wrong,

yet her heart willing to stay.

I remember her for when she loved me.

I reflect her attitude,

she was persistent.

Although she was beat,

her heroic heart has remained in the minds of family.

I remember her for when she loved me.

I hurt to realize she is gone,

An aunt I can call unique.

Her heart of gold, Mind of steel,

and personality of brawniness.

I remember her for when she loved me.

And I love her.
