She Is Me

She looks at me like I'm crazy,

cause she knows what I'm thinking.

I'm impossible, unreasonable,

so she pities me.

As I laugh about fallen chances and overlook tiny roses,

shes waiting on me...waiting in vain.

And I'm furious with her for not being on my side.

For being the person I wish I could be.

Because that girl finds love,

and that girl takes chances.

But that girl is so naive, and she doesn't even care.

So shes locked up, trapped behind such a thin barrier

How I wish she could break free,

but she is me.

And we can never agree so we settle.

Settle for quick laughs and hopeless romances,

and numbers never saved in our phone

and we stress over the future, where God will take us

And as we think the phone may ring, and "his" name will pop up

She goes to answer,

I look at her like shes crazy.

She goes back behind the curtain,

and the spotlight is on me.

And it keeps ringing.
