She Is Me

She is me.

Taken farther into the dark as anybody can see,
Broken worse than glass after being dropped and shattered,
As  lost into insecurity as she can be,
And thrown into pits that are to deep to climb out of.

She is ripped open by the knives to her skin,
She is screaming in silence,
She often smiles to hide her pain,
The scares on her wrist are beautiful to her,

Her mind is taken to hell as she lays in her bed awake at 3 a.m,
She feels comfort when blood rolls down her arm,
She'll never understand why the pain has chosen her,
She knows people love her but sometimes to her it's never good enough,

Sometimes she hopes to get hit by a car,
Sometimes she hopes that her first attempt would've worked,
She never understands most people,
People underestimate the things she will do,

The darkness in her eyes should show it all,
Yet there never dark enough to show her deep pain,
The deepness of the knife after its been placed Into her skin,
Her hatred towards her peers is to strong to ever forgive,

She is the girl in the crowd with the biggest smile,
The girl with the darting brown eyes,
She carries herself well,
Until she gets home to destroy her body by popping pills,

She places handfuls of pills into her mouth,
And swallows them down with the burning water,
Her vision becomes weak,
As the sight of her life begins to fade,

She has past out and her mom walks in,
Lying on the floor with a razor in one hand and vicaden in the other,
The deep cuts on her wrist signal her mom into panic,
She calls the ambulance and her husband on the other line,

Mother rushes to the hospital behind the paremedics,
The doctors are struggling to keep her alive,
They hook air tubs to her nose,
After 16 years of life the girl wanted to die,

Within the next 17 hours the girl awakens,
With her father an mother standing over her in tears,
They wait several days then take her back home,
And she attempts all over again.
