She Said
She said it was a game
She told me she'd protect me
She said that everything would be alright
She told me what to do
She said that I could trust her
She told me all the secrets to the game
She said that I was four
She told me she was thirteen
She said that as my sister she would know
She told me not to tell
She said it was our secret
She told me that nobody else would care
She never told me why
She never said she blamed me
She never told me that I'd blame myself
She never said abuse
She never told me sorry
She never said I'd hate myself someday
But now I say forgive
And now she tells me thank you
And now I tell myself it's all okay
