She Said


 

“Blow out!”, as she held a tissue over my nose

“You need to scrub harder”, as she washed my hair

“Learn balance first”, as she held my bike steady

 “Crazy night!”, as we three huddled into a twin-size bed

“Visualize it first”, as I jumped off the diving board

“You look beautiful”, as I put on my cap and gown

“You are doing exactly what you need to do. I know it”,

As I cried on her bed and she held me so achingly close
