She Sat on the Old Couch

She sat on the old couch, I saw her face as she walked out of that car with her bag, She saw her mom was hurt and continued to walk away, I watched her from the doorway. She sat on the old couch, Looking different than usual by not saying much, She acted like herself in a few minutes but she just wanting to forget, I watched her from the table. She sat on the old couch, And took it without a thought with some help, She knew sugar helps the medicine go down, I watched her lose her senses. She sat on the old couch, And started to mumble and wobble around, She was crazy for some time but she loved that, I watched her forget the world. She slept on the old couch, After laughing and crying with happiness, She wanted the world to feel the same, I watched her try those dark things, She was only 15. I was only 15.
