She Told Me

She told me not to worry about what others had to say

She told me I was beautiful and to wipe my tears away

She told me not to stress, that my life had just begun

She told me to enjoy the little things and try to have some fun

She told me she was proud of how much I’ve matured

She told me no matter what that our love would be endured

She never told me of how much pain had occured

She never told me if she would ever be cured

She told me not to worry, that everything will be alright

She told me one day she will sprout her wings and take flight

I will never understand why God called her home so soon

I just know my love for her was from here to the moon

Pain will make you grow

And the tears you shed can water your soul

And the memories you reflect upon can shine and warm your heart
