She waited too long!

Sarah’s hair is so blond, darling hands so small. In her cute little dress Sarah dances along. When Dinner is done the bell has rung. Slowly, slowly she wakes back home. Daddy drank too much again and mama is strung out. She knocks her milk getting on her seat and SMACK! Sarah blacks out. When she wakes she is sore all over, bleeding from areas she shouldn’t be. Sarah cleans herself up and dresses in long sleeves. Packs her lunch and heads to school. Holding back her tears. Entering class she sits in front taking out her books. Mrs. Lowrey sees her face, knowing it too well. She asks Sarah if she’s alright and shakes her little head no. “Sarah is there something you want to share?” “My daddy hurts me everyday and in the morning I hurt in this place....” She points and Lowery tries to remain calm asking if mommy knows. Sarah shakes her head and explains Mama shoots up every time she falls. Mrs. Lowery goes the steps, but by then it is too late and poor little Sarah is dead.
