She Was

Location

Brown eyes that told the truth even before her mouth opened,

Hair so thick the layers of it against her neck warmed even the coldest part of her,

A nose that solidified her father's presence,

Lips that introduced a smile to even the worst of enemies,

A chin that wrinkled every time she was made irritable by societal views of beauty,

A neck that contained the voice of her mother's lessons,

Shoulders that rounded with her passive persona,

Arms that seemed able to hug every sorrow away,

Legs that seemed to only move down twisted pathways,

Hands that tormented the pages of books,

Feet that simply couldn't stay put,

And a body that proved that determination lived within her,

and she was magnificent, she was beautiful.
