She was just a baby.
Just a little girl
living in a harsh cruel world.
My mommy wasn't there,
and neither was my daddy.
I was almost on my own
except my sister maddie.
Maddie was the older one
so she did all the raising.
I am growing up now
but my memory is slowly fading.
I wanted that normal life
and that loving warm family.
I never had that,
just a dog named Sammie.
Sixteen years went by,
but it couldn't be fast enough.
I went through hell and back,
it didn't make me tough.
It made me want to end my life,
to give up.
Slit my wrists with a knife.
I snapped in reality quick.
I had to make it.
I met the love of my life.
She gave me reason to try it.
I'm trying to make it.
Trying to go to college.
I went today to check out just how much money i had to get down with.
My Pell paid for most of my tuition.
It's covered.
I hate to say it, but there is no thanks to my mother.
I need to win a scholarship to help pay for my books.
I know i can't get that money with my looks.
