She was only 13

She was always quiet

While everyone else created a riot.

She was only 13

"You're too young" they said

No one understood what went through her head

Not her family, not even her friends

"You're only 13, just go to bed."

She kept to herself

And she made a mess of herself

"Forgetting" to eat, she was so weak

"There has to be some type of happiness in my life" she said in a shriek.

As the years passed she got the help that she seeked,

Now I assist those who were in the same position as me

I was only 13, still so young but suffering has no age requirment

It's not a roller coaster that says "you must be this tall to ride this ride."

I am strong

I am happy

I am a helper

But most of all I am aware

Aware of the harm I caused myself,

The same harm others cause to themselves.
