She Will

Dear Past Naftaly,

This might be the worst thing you have ever read, but if you are reading this, just know the love in you is dead.

She will be the first thing you will wake up to in bed, you will love everything she says, but then all those memories will only turn into regret

Her eyes, God her eyes were like comets, but her lips were made to lie to hide the bones in her closet

She will be the key to your chains, the light in your darkness, the pill to heal the pain, but she will make life hurt all over again.

She will be the first to say the three magical words: I Love You and you will say it back, you will then open up to her, leaving your defenses down, only for her to attack

When you are concentrating on your grades reading about famous blacks like Washington and DuBois

She will be going to raves, hanging with outrageous frats and new boys

I guess I was just someone to play with, like one of her little brother’s toys

This letter will likely stop you from briefly being the happiest man alive

Her love will takes you to the skies, but then that same love will drop you without teaching you how to skydive

But after she hurts you, you will no longer know how to survive

You will eat M&M’s all day and listen to music, then you are going to need a doctor

Your life will be out of whack like an examination without a proctor.

Remember the first semester of college, promise yourself you are going to be there only for the knowledge.

Yours Sincerely

The Broken Naftaly
