She will always be okay.

Her bulky Asics angered the uneven pavement below her feet.

A crunch released with every step.

Two backpacks heavily rest on her aching shoulders.

She was not okay.

The frigid air slapped her chest.

Behind the door awaited warmth with open arms.

She pushed pass the barrier only to find disappointment.

She was not okay.

She stepped into the ring battling cold and darkness.

Automatically, She found herself in utter defeat.

She flicked the switch, Light please be her superhero?..

She was not okay.

She waited a moment.

Like Light she too had no control.

This was not the first time.

She was not okay.

Lack of heat or electricity was no secret to her youth.

Struggling is only a learning battle worth overcoming.

Life does not always give you the greatest cards.

So she's learned to persevere with the hand she's been dealt.

She will always be okay.
