The Sheep
I go Where I'm told
All I do is follow him
I'm dumb on my own
I tend to wander away
You lead me to green pastures
to waters where I drink.
I run into the Shadow...
save me I cry, I weep cause I'm lost
I went too far, I'm so confused
can't find my way home
I'm scared.
I don't like it...
Oh why did I leave?
Lost and Alone
in the darkness, it's so cold
It's night all the time.
Separated from my favorite green meadows
It was so much better there!
I want to go home!
I scream and cry.
My heart breaks.
Suddenly it's lighter
my hope renews...
Can I finally get out of this place?
I find a new path
it wasn't there before...
I walk down it slow, not knowing where it leads.
Going down this pathway
it's so narrow and winding
Where is it going?
I'm not so sure about this...
Then you're there, picking my up
You put me over your shoulders
you're carrying me home!!
I'm feeling ecstatic
You finally found me!
You examine me later to make sure I'm okay.
My eyes cast down.
I'm so ashamed
my lips can't form words to even say sorry...
Then your hand on my cheek, you look into my eyes
You tell me "Look around -see what I did for you"
I look where you tell me, and there
in the pen all alone
NO one watching my brothers and sisters!
you left them, to look for me?
You can't just leave them....
can you?
He tilts my head
looking me in the face
"I love you" he says
"I found the lost, you needed me"
He sets me down
next to still waters
and my favorite green meadows
He watches us all,
I'm where I belong.
Safe in his arms forever
I'm his to keep...
Cause he is my shepherd,
and I am his sheep.
