The Shell of Me

writhing

thrashing

inside the shell that i call me

longing for something more

something else

something out of reach

my shell keeps me grounded

captured

tortured

blank walls and empty stares surround me

boring into my soul

collecting the light of my youth

my being

is being

devoured

the core of my existence- once full of life

now being nibbled by reality

bit by bit

until there is nothing left

but a hollow shell

a blank wall

an empty stare

the shell once hiding her light

now deplete its goodness

taken by the night
