Shell of Myself

One small teardrop rolls gently down my face Holding all the pain i simply cant erase All alone waiting in the shadows, tinted black To much time to think about what life's hidden in the cracks it's the little things i don't usually see that come into my head and shed darkness over me I try to shut them out act like their not there but then they all come flooding in and fill me with despair somehow breaking through the barrier covering all that i hold dear in a blanket of sadness, rage, and fear somehow making it impossible for me to be myself being sad and feeling lonely always feeling like someone else one day i will be strong enough to break through that cover and regain my real life as a daughter, a wife, and a mother i try so hard now to do all those things well but that blanket disguises me, all i am is a shell a shell of myself as strange as that may seem but one day ill be whole again someday i'll be me
