Sheltered

You never told me life would be like this

I had to go through some shit

Then deal with it

You taught me how to be a perfect girl

But we're not living in a perfect world.

The way you see life is like it's a picture perfect photograph

A happy couple

With a lifetime of memories that will last.

But life isn't picture perfcet

And I'm not that perfect girl

You ever drop a framed photograph?

What happens when that shit hits the floor?

That framed photograph isn't picture perfect anymore

It's broken.

Just like the world we live in and know.

I never knew what the real world was like

I grew up sheltered from this thing called life.

I saw a picture and wanted that life

But life isn't a picture perfect photograph

An you know I'm right!

I learned the hard way

Forced to experience some shit that wasn't right.

Now I'm broken like that framed photgraph that hit the floor at night...

It has me wishing I was living in a different world.

Thinking maybe things would be different in my life,

If I grew up knowing the real world.
