She's You
Open the doors and go outside
She’s different from the girl she was inside
Her walk, her talk, gestures and strides
She was someone but she wasn’t me
She wanted to be popular
It meant fitting in
She opened the door and went outside
Realization poured down and replenished her soul
Popularity is just validation she cried
It’s disparate from fitting in
Fitting in is inhabiting a place in your heart
Lounging cozily next to the fireplace of self acceptance
Embraced by the warm love you instill
Understood by those who accept it
It’s you
You write your chapters and tell your stories
You water the flowers of your garden
She’ll bloom
Because she’s you
