She’s seven years old

She’s seven years old and learning about the world,

sitting on a school bus coming from the zoo,

theres an angel next to her fast asleep

with hair that’s silk and skin that’s gold

She’s seven years old and she can’t get rid of that feeling.

She’s thirteen years old and blessed with a curse

of sugar highs and all time lows,

and there’s a pretty little sparrow who loves to speak,

with a voice sweet and pretty, but

she’s thirteen years old and she’s crying

They’re fifteen years old and knows they can love more than one

except they can’t love at all,

theres two princes sweet and inlove

so sickening and yet so passionate

they’re fifteen and they learn the words reverie and romantic.

He’s seventeen years old and he’s a king,

with with an iron heart and glass tears,

who learns that romance is a fantasy, a unreality for him

and he is fine and he is good,

for he desires a different string of fate, a different silver bond,

He’s seventeen and he learns to love without ever loving.
