The Shield is Better than the Mask

Love is the mother of the smiling sun.

Darkness is the father of the violent murderer.

Love is the composer of jolly laughter.

Darkness is the composer of a sorrowful cry.

Love teaches the child to heal the broken wings of a fallen bird.

Darkness teaches the child to snap the bird’s neck.

These are two atomic elements, but can become a molecular compound.

Compounds are formed through fire.

A fire fed by lies.

Lies are cold-steel daggers.

They come from one, but stab two.

A hole is left in two hearts, leaving nothing but pure black oil.

The oil engulfs the soul, darkness consuming light.

The atrocity that a plastic mask brings.

Plastic masks are what we wear for people whose gavel binds our emotions with chains.

Their gazes act as filters for the river of words that flow from our mouths.

Their affection becomes our cocaine, time and time again we look for our next fix.

We play the role of knights to avoid being squires.

Though in truth we are neither.

This façade brings famine to the harvests of joy that reside within us.

A famine that plows the fields bearing crops of compassion.

A famine that sows the seeds of contempt.

Those seeds then grow into crops, fed by the energy of a black sun.

These crops bear the fruit of hatred.

The soul, hungry for emotion, takes this fruit as their meal.

The soul inevitably becomes what it eats.

The plastic mask is the serial killer of love.

The plastic mask the father of hatred.

The plastic mask is a fatal parasite to the loyal puppy that leads two characters down single road.

However, this parasite is not invincible.

This parasite is not impervious to disease itself.

For its cancer is the shield that replaces it.

That shield is made from the metal element known as courage.

This shield inspires one to remove filters from its mouth.

This shield inspires one to remove the emotional chains.

This shield inspires the freedom of the human soul.

This shield protects that puppy from any darkness that would do it harm.

This shield protects the glass with pink wine that rests within your chest.

This shield protects the cup that two people pour half of their pink wine into.

The mask is the ravager, but the shield is the protector.

The mask is the demon, but the shield is the angel.

The mask is your monstrous villain, but the shield is your benevolent friend.

Therefore, take care of this shield so it can take your relationship.

take of this shield so it can take of your lover.

Take care of this shield so that it can take care of you.
