shining

I saw the stars

for the first time in

a while.

Was it you

shining down on me?

I've never seen them

so clearly

in this sad and busy

city.

Shine down on me

for a long while.

And when they twinkle

in the night sky,

I can imagine it

as you winking

waiting to for me

to see your special surprise.

I'll always be searching for you,

I won't have to look hard.

For you were and are

my world,

my moon,

and my stars.

shine for a long while.

I'll let myself go blind

just to feel

that you are always

right by my side.
