A SHINING ANGEL

Can you hear me? Can you hear my cries for help?

Can you listen and tell me what you hear?

Can you please help me?

I’m crying for help, but no one is listening-

They believe that since I’m smiling-

I’m okay.

I am okay-

On some days.

On most days, I feel empty-

I feel underappreciated

I feel unwanted

I want to know that I’ve done well

I’m okay.

I want to be acknowledge

I want- no I need someone to hold me

I need someone to dry me because I’m drenched in my own tears

I’ll hide my cries for help in a song about a breakup

I’ll hide my tears of sadness behind tears of joy

I’m exhausted-

From this world

I’m okay.

Please tell me I’ve done well

Let me know I’m an inspiration

Let me know I’m important

Let me know I’m appreciated

Please tell me you’ll hold me

Don’t let me go

If so-

I’ll always be with you
