Shining Star

I stand out In the pouring rain, And I think to myself, That not everyone has to be the same. It’s such a shame That people are trying to live Up to such high expectations. High expectations to be someone they’re not. Just be who you are And be loud. Stay true to yourself And be proud. Yes you may have quirks And flaws, But that’s part of who you are. So don’t ever try to change, Because you’re a shining star. I know. I know what it’s like, I’ve been down that road Always trying to please and not disappoint. But sometimes, You have to break free. Break free from the crowd and just be, Just be yourself. Just be who you are And be loud. Stay true to yourself And be proud. Yes you may have quirks And flaws, But that’s part of who you are. So don’t ever try to change, Because you’re a shining star. Everyone is beautiful. Everyone is wonderful. Just be who you are And be loud. Stay true to yourself And be proud. Yes you may have quirks And flaws, But that’s part of who you are because You’re unique in your own special way, So don’t ever try to change. Just be who you are Because you’re a shining star. Now I stand out In the new sunshine, And I realize, I can be who I want; The choice is mine.
