Shipwrecked

sadness is spoken of as an ocean-storm grip

but i see my mind as the leaderless ship

from which i am thrown off to drown in the sea;

let me be.

let me struggle in the hollows of my aching bones

let me crawl down the hallways of this empty home;

my soul is the coffin kept in the ship’s hold

and to be shipwrecked means swimming in search of mind-gold.

hi aubrie! i absolutely love your poetry, you're awesome. i know this sounds kinda needy but i don't really have anybody to critique my stuff, so maybe if you had a spare moment could you possibly look at my (well, i dont know if it would even be considered a poem) piece "what a little girl learned"? it means a lot to me because the contents have really been weighing on my heart for a while, so if you could possibly check it out that would absolutely make my day!!! thank you so much and keep being awesome!!!
