Shipwrecked

Our ship did not sail.

It sank, close enough to the shore that I find myself wandering, asking the waves why they were so cruel
asking myself where I went wrong...

I often wonder if maybe the waves would be merciful enough to bring it back, though wrecked, I'm sure there's something worth salvaging

I'm a fool

I desperately crave something I can never have

yearning for just a moment, just a reminder of what we were....

Our ship did not sail.

We barely began our journey,

We were blinded by our insecurities, broken by things before us...

But though it did not sail, though the waves took it down before we'd even had a proper chance

I still find myself clinging to the possibility of what we were to become.
