Shock and Awe

Perhaps it's bizzare

Maybe it's a bit queer

That that word we use to promote greatness

Also means fear

All the greatness can be daunting

It can leave us with wanting

Wanting to be the best

Wanting to outperform the rest

When it seems like we having nothing to give

Just when it seems like there is no reason to live

Gaze into the beautiful sun

For all our lives we have spun

Around that awe-inspiring ball of light

And we don't realize we can shine just as bright

Embrace that which gives you terror

For you are your lifes message bearer

Dispel ugliness from your existence

You don't need to go a very far distance

To soon realize that the wonder of this world

Is not hidden away and furled

It's in your hands and it's in the trees

But it isn't there for you to seize

You cannot be great

If you are always lying in wait

Smile at the wonder that surrounds you

Everything is awesome if you just change your point of view
