Shooting stars

In the open expanse of the milky way, On a clear and cloudless night, You may get to see a shooting star; A most delightful sight. They twinkle and gleam, and sparkle and shine, but what are they really? Suns for distant galaxies, millions of miles away falling and dying, leaving the world black, cold, lifeless What alien species just died? Now that their earth just fell into despair and eternal night. All the while we gaze upon the sky-- Giggling, full of wonder, making wishes.
