The Shores of Sleep

Upon the misty shores of sleep,

The stars of twilight brightly shine.

Shining on a placid sea,

Where the age-old tides hide chasms deep.

Flowers bloom on the grassy shore,

In colors indescribable.

Gnarled old trees grow, brushing the sky,

Roots ancient and buried in lore.

Ships depart from golden docks,

With cargo holds lit up with dreams.

The vessels set sail, afloat on the sea,

Followed by heavenly flocks.

Flocks of birds, gentle and white,

Cooing and singing with rapturous voice,

Flutter steadily and softly beside the great ships,

As they sail deep into the night.
