Short Comings
Why is that to this day
I can’t bring myself to say
That I’m proud of you little bother
Even if you may not think so
I miss you, you must know that
And I wonder why you went to hide
In a place cold and angry
Deep inside
And why is that I can’t bring myself to answer the phone
When I see a call from home
I don’t resent you mother
God knows I don’t deserve your love
And I know you did your best to raise us both
All broken and alone
But the past hurts to remember
The wounds never healed you see
And I’d much rather not recall
And to you former lover, why is that I still cry
After all this time has passed me by
By now I know we weren’t right
You and me, me and you
But I wonder if the hope will ever stop
The truth is that I miss you
But no we can’t be freinds,
You broke my heart
You must understand,
And though I can’t bring myself to say it,
I still remember every day
Funny how I can’t remember to forget you
Even for my own sake
So really you must know the reason
For my profound and utter treason
Life passes me by
In the blink of an eye
And here I stay
With all these things left unsaid
Turned to nothing more than mere word play
