A Short Poem About the Ocean and Us

They always tell me to go to that happy place, the happy place where the waves hit the shore.

And I always get there, to that "happy place", just like they say.

But somehow every time I get there, it is no longer happy,

because you are the waves

and I am the shore

and you just keep coming back

and taking more of me with you.
