The Shot

Think of a lock and key

The very depths of its passage.

An unwarranted death and decree

Of a life filled with a single message.

I sought not to find myself,

but to merely find a release.

But little did I know it'd help more than my health

Since making one poem was more like a tease.

They say you must,

Always setting rules on the free.

In these rules I do not trust

For that is poetry's ultimate fee.

That is how it started,

A slow climb to expression.

Learning little of a life darted

Into a dart board of Strife and tension.
