Shots Fired

Shots Fired

          Jasmine E C

Sun kissed sky

Sentimental sigh

Surreptitious laugh

Caressed by the high

Happy eyes twirl in clamor

Immersing into eternity

Giggling eyes wiggle in song

Embodying the effervescent city

Shots fired

Shots fired

Shots fired

It's how this city has been wired

Buildings collapsing on wrinkly knees

Colors losing limbs, call them amputees

Trees fainting with burdened skulls, sigh

Limp bodies, hitting the pavement, why

Sad eyes wither in confusion

Indulging into mortality

Sobbing eyes stumble in mourning

Embodying the decedent city

Stormy hugged sky

Apathetic sigh

Surreptitious sobs

Strangled by the high
