Should I
Should I just let my mom not eat?
It's like we're stuck in a layer of concrete
Should I allow myself to be mediocre?
It's hard to have such composure
Will God ever hear me?
Did he even hear my grandpa screams?
I try and try but it's like I'm boxing in a ring
Life's hitting me jab jab jab
The problems keep pounding but they're not as effective
Gods letting me know there's a knockout punch coming my way
DODGE IT
Because if I don't it'll end my hopes my dreams my reality as a human being
Maybe you don't get the picture
I can't fail
I gotta find the aspects I have to prevail
Can I do something right for once?
It's seems like I'm in the same place I started
I'm at war with the man in the mirror
Don't cry no mama let God heal ya
Am i even here for myself or someone else?
It's hard to believe that anybody cares
I'm a black kid that been through it like most
But my struggle is getting to the top with so little hope
It's like I'm crawling through a pit a fire
Makes me mad thinkin bout the past
Should I just lay down and give up?
Should I never let my sibling know what a true man and grinder is?
Should I just not find what inside the gives me the energy to fight?
Should I just cry?
Should I just let my “legacy” die and just pray for another chance to let people view my minds eye?
Or should I just let this be my last time?
No, not a suicidal poem
But a no talk just do poem
I'm gonna let the whole world know what I've been through
And feel a glimpse of my pain
While you sleep I'll be working in the rain
I can't say much just gotta train
Gotta get my starting spot let's refrain
Gotta make it to the top the truth I say
How bad do I want it?
Forget a team
How bad do I want it?
I think that was a mislead
A team is as strong as your weakest leak
Which I feel is me
Everytime I get the chance to pursue my dreams
It's like I'm scared to be me!
Over and over I have to think
What the hell is wrong with me?
This is a chance for your mom to eat, your siblings to really see what a real man can be, show your parents your weren't a mistake and just believe
Rayshawn get the fears out and know God got you
Just follow
Go to the mirror look in your eyes
And ask
Should I Grind?
