Should I Care?

Get online, browse through pictures.

Perfect makeup, perfect hair.

I see myself, greasy hair, no makeup, and I wonder,

Should I care that they look better than me?

Is life the competition we're told it should be?

I take no selfies.

Why should I care?

I'm just me, and I'm okay.

Glasses or contacts, dry shampoo or none,

I'm not looking at myself,

I'm not a piece of art to be admired.

I'm sentient, meaning I could care,

But I don't.  If I'm here, and you're there,

Why should I care?
