Should the lover forbidden count lost time

Should the lover forbidden count lost time,

As the soul cries "mercy" with tears divine?

The heart shown displaced from its one true rhyme;

Should I tear over something once called mine?

I loathe over many decisions made,

Plead for beckoning thoughts to leave my brain;

Wishing tears would wash the constant mind raid

Of memories lost to a world mundane;

My love, lost on your way o'er horrid sea,

Once was troubling can now be released;

Do not worry yourself with thoughts of me,

As such things are now and remain deceased;

While love is as constant as one's heartbeat,

You, my love, were lost on the bloodstained street.

a perfect shakespearean sonnet in perfect iambic pentameter. very impressive structurally, yet you still packed so much emotion into this limiting structure. very well done
