Shoulder I (Blessed) [J. Cole]

Look up when you talking to me, otherwise the soundwaves might not travel fully

You being this small in this medium doens't help communicating with someone this large and ruly

But if you really want a lesson, then tell me who you think you stressing?

I'm the king, I'm the one they gunning for, I been blessed by the simurgh

I'm the ancient Russians repelling the Mongol Golden Horde

I'm the closest thing to Heracles, a myth in human form

I'm the one greeting oppurtunity when it's knocking on the door

Halfway between a prophet and a soldier of the Lord

Son of man and of God, yet my halves still conform

Cohort on lock, and He's the only One I dare report

So when threaten with the beamers, extensions, and 9's

Do you think that would cause me to consider batting an eye?

Go ahead though, call up the police, SWAT team, national guard, calvary, secret service, spec ops, delta force, marine corps

Don't matter how many groups you got on dial, you're gonna end needing more

See, the main difference between us is the illusion of control

How you going to let something you don't have dictate your role

When even though I lack it, to Him I obey and extol

See I'll bet 50 G's that I don't have that your whole conglomerate will end up in toe tags

Zero feet under, and disfigured with no caskets

No amount of heavy artillery firing/fighting will prevent all the raw corpse sightings

Fine then, one last chance before we regress to all out war, to try and figure out what you started this for

Because me? I'm armed to the teeth, all I need's a bandana and three swords

You? Fresh out of luck like you cleared inventory at the store

No surprise, when I asked what it was all for, you down a list of every dark horse:

Greed, envy, wrath, and of course gluttony

Motivated by all those sins, but something's still stumping me:

'How you think seven's better than nine?', I ask with a preemptive 'please'

You say 'Enough questions, now you answer something for me:'

'What was the whole point of this rap dog? Your points are weak, I'm getting tired, they're inducing sleep'

'And what fuels you, since you're so quick to jump on the core ideals that fuel me?'

I just leave you with 2 scriptures "Isaiah 54:17, and Galations 5:22-23"
