Should've Known

I was just sitting there, watching you

And in that moment I never even knew

That we would ever grow into friends

But now I'm starting to see you through a whole new lens

Although we've only known each other for awhile

Every time I'm around you I can't help but smile

I know there are so many girls knocking at your door

Always wanting you to give them something more

Every day in class you would smile my way

So I believed there'd be an us one day

But now you've got some other girl on your arm

And she's the one who gets all your charm

I thought we had something going on

But it turns out I was so wrong

Yet every time you see me you still smile and wave

So I'm the one who has to put up and be brave

Even though we still laugh and talk

Your not the one whose heart needs a lock

I guess I should've known it from the start,

That liking you would just get me darts in my heart
