The Shovel

Darkness glazes over everything As day turns to night, The air becomes dense, Filling my lungs full of lead. I can’t breathe. I can’t see, Anything but this darkness. Suddenly, I fall. Down, down, down. Into the cold. Into the darkness, Into this hole. Then it starts to fall, The darkness, the dirt. Down, down, down. It weighs me down. It forces me to the ground. I look at my hands Covered in dirt and splinters, And I realize that, I've buried myself alive.
