Siblings give me 1/8th of my joy and 7/8th of my patience

(Dedicated to my little brother)

Little bro, I was always told that I loved you from the start.

I wanted you to be here to hug, to hold, to play,

To love.

Because I love you, I will always listen to your fun stories about your running adventures, your everyday stories, your groups trips to stores that end in hilarity.

Because I love you, I will let you play your sound track music constantly even when it annoys me, listen to the same one song of a musical because we can sing it in tune, your theories on what will happen next in our favorite shows.

Little bro, I only want the best for you.

The happiest memories, the funniest adventures, the feeling of contentment.

I was always told I was a protector and I’ve been that to you and more.

Because I love you, I lied about the problems between our parents, I hid you from the inner-family arguments, I made sure you were happy and healthy.

Because I love you, I focused my life on yours, I did whatever the family wanted so you could live your life, I made any space I was a safe space for you.

Little bro, understand you never stopped me from living my life

I lived every moment with you.

Every laugh, every argument, every moment tears showed up I adored every time and all the ones that will come

And I love you more because you have seen what I’ve done and you are trying to repay it back.

Being there for me when I’ve gone through the dark and the greyness to bring back the bright colors.

And because of that, I love you.
