Sick

I have a serious topic

I shall not speak in riddles

My heart has stopped hoping

I shall not speak in riddles

I was told the other day my dog was sick

So I shall not speak in riddles

The sickness was the same from what I once saw

I shall not speak in riddles.

There was once a time last year

Before I spoke in riddles

My Yiayia had the cancer too

And I didn't speak in riddles.

She was saved from swift, quick acting,

So then I spoke in riddles.

My grandfather has the same as Jade

I shall not speak in riddles.

It is almost like my family name

I shall not speak in riddles.

So what hope do you think have I?

The one who spoke in riddles,

When this cancer spreads like wildfire?

I shall not speak in riddles.

I am one who has the burns

I the one who spoke in riddles.

So why not it have my skin hurt?

This is not a riddle.

If you listened carefully,

you may have onced recalled,

I spoke of my Jade,

My Grandparents,

And my self, too

If you read between the lines,

you will know what caused our fall
