Side Effects that Remain Within

Every two minutes, a child or a person is sexually abused by a relative, a family friend, and/or a stranger. Most of the time the person will keep the abuse a secret for a number of years. In results, they do not know the side effects that will appear from the abuse.

In my lifetime, I experienced sexual abuse for eleven years. I kept my expereince a secret from the age of six to the age of seventeen. I still suffer from all of the side effects of the sexual abuse, but I know with the help of God, I can fight these side effects. The one job that WILL change my life would be becoming a Family/Marriage Counselor. I want to be able to help people express their pains and hurts of their past. I feel that if one wants to get rid of all of their side effects, he or she should go deep into their past to fight it. I do not want the world to feel sorry for me. I want to inspire women and men that they can fight this abuse. Just know, if you are reading this, that you are not alone.
