Side By Side
I wish I had more to say than just,
"I’m going through the same."
I wish I could take the tears away,
but I can be your shoulder if you call my name.
I’ll listen to the words your mind whispers,
and the sorrows your heart beats.
The sun isn’t bound to show all the time,
so keep in mind, we all get weak at the knees.
All you have to do is stand your ground.
You can tune out the off key wind chimes.
We’re stuck on the same line,
we’ve gotta keep moving.
It’ll turn out fine.
There’s nothing left to continue proving.
Go along for the ride,
we’re bound to catch some sun rays,
and
if we don’t
at least we’re standing
side by side.
