Sides

Hopeless

You turn left;

Brother against brother.

You turn right;

Man against wife.

You fight for what you believe in,

But at what cost?

You know it’s right;

This is what matters.

You know they’re wrong,

But why do they beat you so?

You’re supposed to be

on the same side.

You didn’t ask for this;

Why would you?

But they didn’t ask for this either.

Whose fault is it?

So this is civil war.

I just want it to stop.
