Sierra

Stranded, but not alone

on this island I had to bring

a gal who always feels like home

my sister, naturally.

She’s innocent and free,

comforting me in my despair,

killing the bugs too big for me.

We truly make a perfect pair

Making me laugh seems to be her speciality

she can easily read me like a book,

but she does is so gracefully.

Sometimes she gets ahead of herself,

in a way that’s almost amateur

but she knows I’m her safety net

and I’ll always be there to catch her.
