The sign reads: CLOSED
I’m a person that equivalates to the advice of how people tell others not to eat with your eyes,
But with your stomach.
I’m when you bite off more than you can chew.
When I think back to it,
I wish I bit my tongue.
My smile was your favorite food.
My lips were the main course.
You assumed my words must be appetizing.
At the moment you were hungry.
You filled your plate with everything that appealed to you.
As you ate the meal,
You realized that you didn’t want the rest.
You threw away what remained on your plate.
You have consumed my smile.
My lips were chewed.
All I got was the words.
The words that were a little too filling for your taste.
I guess I wasn’t your taste.
I knew I needed to make the meal more palatable.
Instead, I confused salt with sugar.
And now my last diner for the night has left.
The sign reads: CLOSED
