A Silence

If you asked me to speak to the world,
I could never get their attention.
The world is buzzing with business,
The world is full of tension.
But there's some unheard people,
They're pushed under the rug.
A people that aren't seen at all,
A gender suffering at the hands of the smug.
Would I speak for all the girls
Who have no voice to speak?
The girls enslaved as property,
The ones not allowed to think.
The girls who see rape, not daylight,
The girls who are said to be weak.
But I assure you, they're not,
Discouraged as they are,
Education, safety and
A voice will get them far.
I see some other countries
Suffering from this disaster.
But a problem is that girls
Were never seen as masters
Of their destinies, their futures,
Their own damned lives.
Instead they have to try but
Because of others they derive
Themselves as less than superior
Than their male counterparts.
The entire world does it,
But now it's time to start
Seeing girls' strengths and ideas
That each one day may be great.
Girls should be risen up,
Not flattened by others' hate.
