Silence

Silence,
A word often used to quiet the voices that are everything.
They whisper,
They warn
They patronize,
They bring grief.
And yet i don’t know of happiness,
nor love,
nor forgiveness.
Nothing without the voices.
The silence,
it brings bleakness.
It takes down the barrier.
The protection the noise brings.
As it drowns out the lies.
The screams.
The cries.
Grief.
The war.
War within.
Threatening to pull us apart.
To tear us in half when it falls.
When silence falls.
It will bring chaos.
Destruction.
The noise is our safety.
Please don’t take it away.
