Silence

There are moments when the Silence

Threatens to destroy me.

When the lack of noise is pressing down

And I’m not sure I can breathe.

There are other times when the Silence

Is a welcome change of pace.

When the lack of noise is reassuring

And tears run down my face.

At other times the Silence is just there:

An unavoidable part of life

Neither welcome nor detested.

Just Silence.
