Silence

They said you were crazy!

They said you were just weak and fragile!

You sat there, waiting for the voices to stop!

And to leave you alone!

You sat hoping and waiting for the pain and suffering to fade

Feeling no control

Powerless and voiceless

They get louder and louder!!!

Till you eventually broke

And the red fear ran down your body

Mixing with the tears as gravity took over

It stains the ground beneath you

Then the day came

You lost all hope

No one listened to your silent screams

No one believed you

They would not listen!!!

You take a deep breath and close your eyes

Then the rope tightened

And the voices and pain and suffering were suddenly gone

They all began to listen to you now

But all they got in return was his friend

Silence

Silence will never fail to one!!

It will eventually take over!!

There came the day when everyone became quiet

And finally!

For once!

Listened.

This poem is about the teen suicides that have been occuring through out the world, but most recently, I lost a great friend to this tragic death. He was suffereing in silence and no one payed closed enough attention to it before we could stop it. He hung himself in his house in his own room and his pregnant girlfiend found him; he was only 19 years old. If you ro someone you know might be going through something take the courage to say something and help them. You never know, they could be suffering in silence as well.
