Silence

Bent to amount to nothing Working and slaving for the attainment of greatness Locking eyes with the machine You slump and lose shape slowly, folding into yourself like a mound of sand Blowing away one bit at a time. Remnants soon to be forgotten Still clamoring for a quick fix, fast and painless like a light switch. To escape the quiet the madness The ever- ticking clock, You welcome the silence.
